I know I’m not the only one who strategically watches Snapchat stories. Everyone has a select few users they follow, with stories they don’t actually want to watch. Ex boyfriends/girlfriends, perhaps? Don’t worry, I don’t have the heart to delete them either. So you skip over them and watch the one’s you actually want to see. Well, that was before auto-advance was put in place. The auto-advance feature was added during Snapchat’s last update and auto-plays the stories of everyone you follow. Even those you were purposefully avoiding.

We all complained and Snapchat FINALLY listened. On Friday, Snapchat announced their next update will be implementing a new Playlist feature, and removing the auto-advance feature. You will officially be able to watch the stories you choose, without being forced to watch everyone else’s stories too! Snap fiends rejoice!

Watching consecutive stories will now be an option, not a requirement, using the Stories Playlist feature. Using this feature will allow you to add select stories to a playlist where you can then automatically play them all, in the order you added them. So now you can go back to watching all of your dog-filtered and flower-crowned friends the way you want to!

Did you hate the auto-advance feature or did you learn to love it? Let us know in the comments!
