Parsel

With so many cosmetics brands and products to choose from, it's difficult to know where our money is best spent these days. One way you can narrow down your options?

Why not try buying from more cruelty-free brands? Regardless of your dietary preferences, I'm sure if you felt it was possible to buy more from cruelty-free products, you probably would, especially if you didn't have to sacrifice quality.

The good news is many of your favorite brands already are cruelty-free! However, if you are vegan always be sure to check the list of ingredients, since cruelty-free does not always mean no animal derived products are used in the makeup. For our purposes, we're discussing cruelty-free in terms of animal testing.

If you'd like to add some more cruelty-free brands to your makeup collection, check out this list:

1) Anastasia Beverly Hills

Now you can always feel good about using your Modern Renaissance palette. And yup, that Brow Wiz you're pulling out every morning is made cruelty-free, too! Great brows and stunning eyeshadows while keeping the animals in mind? Double bonus!

via Hourglass

2) Hourglass Cosmetics

Need a little justification to drop some cash on Hourglass products? Being a cruelty-free brand should be reason enough, right? Hourglass Cosmetics incorporates no animal testing into the production of their products. Also, all vegans out there will be happy to know that many of Hourglass's products have no animal derived products either. However, as mentioned, always be sure to check!

3) Cover FX

This is one brand that I actually was well aware of as cruelty-free. I started using Cover FX before it was even being sold in Sephora, and let's just say, it's always been love at first sight. Their Natural Finish Foundation is actual perfection. In fact, I'm pretty sure out of all the brands listed here, Cover FX is the one that just does everything right: talc-free, fragrance free, oil-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and vegan. There are many perks when it comes to Cover FX.

I've introduced you to three higher end makeup brands, but what about makeup from the drugstore? Let's take a look at the other end of the spectrum with two drugstore brands that happen to not only be cruelty-free, but also carry my two ultimate favorite drugstore products.

4) Essence

When I found out Essence was cruelty-free, I jumped for joy. Seriously. Their Pure Nude Highlight is my favorite highlighter out there, largely because it gives an amazing glow, but it also only costs $5. If you can get a highlighter that looks great, costs $5, and is cruelty-free, why wouldn't you?

5) Physician's Formula

Yes, Physician's Formula is cruelty-free, and you know what that means? The cult favorite Butter Bronzer is cruelty-free too. I use that bronzer on a daily basis, so this was a welcomed surprise. I promise you, you haven't truly experienced a natural bronzed glow until you've tried this cruelty-free baby.

So, did you know all of these brands were considered cruelty-free? I sure didn't, but I definitely know which brands I'll be favoring while on my next makeup shopping spree. Check out some of my favorite products from some of these brands, all linked below for you. Like I said, that highlight and bronzer are super affordable options you don't want to miss out on.
