If you didn’t have a YouTube channel, what do you think you would be doing right now?

I was in consumer packaged goods marketing before starting YouTube, and I love that world of understanding products and consumers and behaviours, so I may still be in that industry.  Right now I would be on maternity leave though!

How has your channel changed since you first started?

I started my channel seven years ago, so I feel like a lot has changed!  Early on, with my laptop webcam propped up on pillows on my bed, I was really just experimenting, finding my voice, and figuring out what I had to offer to a viewer.  Over time I've found that people like to come to my channel for positivity, relatability, and a shared enjoyment of exploring the beauty world.

What are your Top 5 can’t live without products?

If we're talking beauty products, this is tough!  Probably my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser Treatment Concealer, Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash mascara, Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit (Sweets), Cover Girl TruNaked Nudes Palette and Kat Von D Lock It Powder.  If we're talking life products then coffee, cookies, my laptop, Netflix, and my phone and I'm set :)

What are your most used beauty hacks?

Using tape to create the perfect winged liner!

How would you classify your personal style?

I'm in the funny position of loving all things trending the beauty and fashion world and also living in the world of running around after toddlers.  I don't live a high-fashion life but I love to experiment with seasonal trends where it works for my lifestyle.

How do you juggle the mom life with YouTube?

I have been blessed with kids who love to spend time with me and my husband, but also love to snuggle up with a book, a puzzle or a toy and entertain themselves, or each other, when I really need to get something done!  I try, as much as anyone else, to balance my time on YouTube with my time with family and friends (or sometimes just have my family and friends ON my YouTube channel!), but ultimately it's about prioritizing the tasks that need attention and having a plan to get to the rest eventually!

Any advice for someone who wants to start a channel?

The two most important things I have found are 1) be consistent with your content and your commitment, and 2) truly enjoy what you're doing.  If you're an passionate DIY'er or an aspiring baker, don't make a makeup channel because that's what you think will get you views - make content that fits what YOU love to do, share that in an entertaining and informative way, and your enthusiasm will be infectious.
